To take part in HelloQuitX, here are a few suggestions:
- 1. Share HelloQuitteX with three of your friends and three distant acquaintances.
- 2. Add #HelloQuitteX and #20January to your profile on your social media platforms.
- 3. Remove the “share on X” button from your website.
- 4. Choose to quote on Mastodon or BlueSky rather than on X when both (or all three) exist.
- 5. Add the link to your BlueSky or Mastodon profiles to your profile on X.
- 6. Follow HelloQuitteX on X, Mastodon, and BlueSky, and regularly share its calls to action.
- 7. Rally support on X or LinkedIn (examples of well-crafted posts included).
- 8. Display the HelloQuitteX flyer at your workplace near the coffee machine or in your building’s common areas.
- 9. Start “unfollowing” on X accounts you follow elsewhere or find toxic.
- 10. Reach out to your representatives to encourage them to explore other social networks and follow HelloQuitteX.
Reminder of the 3 steps before the big reconnection:
- 1. [Starting now] Download your personal X archive. This includes, among other things, the list of your followers/followees and your tweets.
- 2. [Starting now] Create an account on Mastodon and/or BlueSky.
- 3. [Starting mid-December] Share your followers/followees list with the CNRS secure migration platform. This will also allow you to link your X account to your accounts on BlueSky and Mastodon.
On #January20th, it’s the big reconnection! You’ll be able to authenticate with your BlueSky or Mastodon account on the CNRS migration platform. It will then automatically reconnect your account with the followers and followees who have also migrated to Mastodon or BlueSky. This is why it’s crucial to convince your followers to join you!
